Verse of the Week

"Pray also for me, that whenever i open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel."

The Suffering of Jesus

"Christ . . . suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously."

The suffering of Christ sets the standard for the suffering of Christians. The greater our suffering for righteousness in this life, the greater our glory in the life to come.
Jesus was executed as a criminal on a cross. Yet He was guilty of no crime--no wrong, no trespass, no sin.

He never had an evil thought or spoke an evil word. His was the most unjust execution ever perpetrated on a human being. Yet it shows us that though a person may be perfectly within the will of God--greatly loved and gifted, perfectly righteous and obedient--he may still experience unjust suffering. Like Jesus he may be misunderstood, misrepresented, hated, persecuted, and even murdered.

gRaduation Day

We’re graduating, and we know
Our lives will be different and new;
We’re going out into the world,
Our goals and dreams to pursue.

But one thing will never, ever change,
As we go our separate ways;
The friends we’ve made in school will be
Our friends for the rest of our days.

The special ties and attachments we’ve made,
These bonds will never be broken;
We’ll continue to feel the closeness,
Though words may not be spoken.

So it’s not "goodbye," but rather "farewell;"
I’ll see you again, my friend.
Your friendship means a lot to me,
And it will never end.

A heart made of stone

Words like deadly venoms
queeze from my heart
the last remnants of the love
I once held for you

They say a man is known best
by the way he treats a former love
and reading your verse
I believe those words to be true

All at once the full magnitude
of your cold and callous heart
is revealed, crystal clear
The words you threw at me
at our final goodbye-
I never loved you
-are indeed true,
I was just to blind to see

I grasp the warm hands
of the ones I hold dear
as the pull me out off
the dark an lonely hell I was in
from the day you stole my heart
and as we walk off
to greet the new sunrise
I look back one last time
upon the angel,
with the heart made of stone

An Entrapment

My love, I have tried with all my being to
grasp a form comparable to thine own,
but nothing seems worthy;

I know now why Shakespeare could not
compare his love to a summer’s day.
It would be a crime to denounce the beauty
of such a creature as thee,
to simply cast away the precision
God had placed in forging you.

Each facet of your being whether it physical or spiritual
is an ensnarement from which there is no release.
But I do not wish release.
I wish to stay entrapped forever.
With you for all eternity.
Our hearts, always as one.

A Special World

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.
Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.
And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.
